Albea Blanca´s naturally flavored organic extra virgin olive oils (EVOOs) also called infused oils, are naturally produced macerating organic condiments in organic extra virgin olive oil, through a long and artisanal process.

The extra virgin olive oil used as basis on this exclusive organic EVOO Collection, is made up of a blend of two olive varieties: the aromatic Alfafarenca and the sweet Arbequina. This extraordinary oil is produced by a family-run business on the East Coast of Spain, in Sierra de Benejama, in the province of Alicante, where olive oil, citric and wild spices are an intrinsic part of the landscape, culture, gastronomy and lifestyle of locals, who work on the cultivation of fruits, like olives among many others, promoting sustainable farming, with the commitment to safeguard the ecosystem, and to diffuse knowledge and innovation in organic farming.

 

The olive groves are on spectacular terraced mountain slopes on sandy-clay soils, at an altitude of 400 to 800 meters above sea-level. It´s a region of surprising climate conditions due to its proximity to the central area of the Mediterranean basin. This unique scenery also contributes the exclusivity of this flavored oil collection.

 

The extra virgin olive oil is magnificently flavored with organic condiments, as lemon, garlic, chili peppers, rosemary and thyme. Handpicked and certified organic fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers are properly dried, to avoid the proliferation of bacteria. Then, starts the maceration process which lasts 15-30 days depending on the added condiment. Afterwards, the EVOO is filtered, kept in stainless steel tanks, and bottled under request.

Alfafarenca and Arbequina blend tasting notes:

Green fruity hints of pear, banana skin, tender almond and ripe tomatoes, and herbal aromas of tomato plant.

Dense and tasty, with great balance between bitterness and pungency, with a remarkable fresh condiment´s taste and aroma.

More than 250 different olive varieties are exceptionally developed in Spain, due to its geographic location, in the Mediterranean Basin and on the Greenwich Meridian; its orographic diversity; and its climate; and from each olive variety, completely different oils are produced, depending on the olive variety´s chemical composition and its sensory attributes; the geographic area and its climate; the care and attention played on the olive grove cultivation and the olives´ harvest; the oil extraction process and the oils´ conservation.
