Hand-picked saffron produced using flowers only cultivated in small organic farms, located at 900m altitude in the coldest region of Spain, Teruel, under specific soil, sun and water requirements, being needed 180.000 flowers to obtain 1kg of saffron!

 

The grade of quality of this red gold depends on the plant´s variety and its level of Crocin (color), Procrocin (flavor) and Safranal (aroma); its stigmas´ length, porosity and thickness; and the care taken on cultivating the fields.

 

Albea Blanca has selected premium saffron, with the highest content of Crocin and healthy nutrients!
